Public humiliation or shaming, historically a punishment for perjury or other offenses in Islamic law, involving parading the offender through the town with their face blackened. (This practice is now abolished.) Example: In historical accounts, 'tashhir' was used as a deterrent against false testimony and other crimes. This term reflects historical punitive practices and the evolution of legal systems. While no longer practiced, it serves as a reminder of the importance of truthfulness and the consequences of perjury.
