Why there is no DTCP search box here

DTCP publishes a Layout Approvals page arranged by district and municipality. On 28 Sep 2026 we opened all 127 municipality entries (31 districts) and every one showed “No data available in table”. DTCP’s older online permission system (dpms.dtcp.telangana.gov.in) did not respond, and the BuildNow portal — which now processes layout applications in GHMC, HMDA and DTCP limits — needs an OTP login for its citizen search. With no official DTCP list we can copy, we will not pretend to “check” a DTCP layout. Use the steps below instead.

How to verify a DTCP layout approval in Telangana

HMDA or DTCP — who approved your layout?

Layouts inside the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region are approved by HMDA. Per HMDA, since G.O.Ms.No.68 (12.03.2025) that region covers 1,355 revenue villages in 104 mandals across 11 districts. Outside it, layouts are approved by the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) through its regional and district offices, or by an Urban Development Authority. If your village may be inside HMDA, first try the HMDA layout search.

Step-by-step verification

  1. Ask for the approval proceedings and the approved layout plan, not just a brochure. Note the LP / TLP number and date.
  2. Check the number format. In the DTCP approval lists published by the Adilabad district administration (as on 30.06.2019), final approvals carry numbers like TLP No. 1/2014/DTCPO/AD and draft approvals like DTLP No. 50/2019/W.
  3. Confirm the stage. A draft approval is not the final approval — the official LRS 2020 FAQ treats layouts where plots were sold without the final layout approval as unauthorised.
  4. Gram Panchayat layouts: the same FAQ says a layout approved by a Gram Panchayat without DTCP / UDA / HMDA technical approval is not valid.
  5. Verify with the DTCP district office for the district (use the finder above) — carry the proceedings number, survey numbers and village.
  6. Match the plan with the ground: your plot number, road widths and open spaces must match the approved plan; plots carved out of open spaces cannot be regularised later (LRS 2020 FAQ Q8).

What does a DTCP layout number look like?

Is a Gram Panchayat approved layout valid?

Not on its own. The official LRS 2020 FAQ says a layout approved by a Gram Panchayat without technical approval of DTCP, a UDA or HMDA is not valid; such plot owners were asked to apply under LRS 2020.
